THE CIRCLE OF LIFE

Winning in today’s highly competitive and global economy has never been more demanding. There is no respite, no easy prey, no pushovers; whether it is in the harshness of the African bush, the demanding world of the electronic business age or indeed at home with the family!

This engaging talk has been delivered by Bruce MacLaren locally and internationally over 350 times. It looks at a lion pride in totality and its survival strategies, characteristics and operating environment, and how they use their abilities and learnings to survive and thrive in that harshest of environments: the African bush!

The “Circle of Life” talk looks at life in a lion pride: from the intense learning cycle the lion cub goes through (equated to a DEPENDENT cycle in our terms); graduating to become an INDEPENDENT EXPERT like the dominant male lion; and eventually participating in the INTER-DEPENDENT or TEAMWORK phase that is so crucial to the success of lionesses hunting in a pride. Parallels are then drawn to the learning world we live in. These points are backed up by some stunning lion footage on video to make the point about how life revolves in a constant circle, and it is vitally important to know where one fits in that circle at any particular point in time – Dependent, Independent or Inter-dependent.
