‘Tis the season for CHANGE

As the classic Bob Dylan song goes, the “The Times They Are a-Changin’”. What was normal in the past is no longer…we are in the era of the “New Normal”, whatever that brings. The Covid-19 pandemic has forever altered our lives, with its immense, rapid and devastating impact on humanity and our economies. Businesses have had to adapt or fail, and often there has been no possibility of adapting. WFH (Work From Home) is extremely prevalent and becoming increasingly the preferred method of work, forced by isolation requirements. That brings its own challenges and opportunities. This has often led to a resultant increase in productivity for the office worker, brought about by forced focus, less travel time and easier access to people via technology. But it has its challenges too, make no mistake….

The overriding impact is what we have always known but not often confronted…..change is a constant today, and we need to embrace it swiftly and effectively. Warren Buffett was recently quoted as saying “Every decade or so, dark clouds will fill the economic skies, and they will briefly rain gold. When downpours of that sort occur, it’s imperative that we rush outdoor carrying washtubs, not teaspoons. And that we will do.”

With that in mind, I confess to having missed a trick in the past few years. I was so pre-occupied with a massive consultancy engagement that I was successfully delivering, and the physical relocation to our new home, that I neglected the Grey Hair Consulting website. As a consequence, the platform it was built on has past its due date and cannot be recovered. There is much truth in “the shoemaker’s children” analogy. I should have known better!

But out of that disaster has come the opportunity to refresh the website completely, and I have been superbly saved by the wonderful efforts of my web designer (Lisa Klie from Azure Designs – highly recommended by me!) who has phoenix-like built a new website from scratch in a remarkably short space of time.

So, Grey Hair Consulting is back in business, albeit operating from the more laid back environment of Plettenberg Bay, and ready to assist you in those complex projects where our slogan applies – “Our HOURS are your YEARS”. Our network has also been refreshed inevitably, as some Associates have moved on and others have joined. But there is one consoling constant… the quality and track records of our Associates remain impeccable.
